If the hard drive in your notebook computer is going to go belly up, the bumps and bruises of the road are likely to be the cause. So before you start moving, back up the data on your notebook computer. External storage today is cheap, and using an external hard drive for backups is as easy as plugging in a USB cable. So don’t put the task off. For critical data files, you may also want to consider using an online backup service, such as Mozy, which could make your most valuable data available to you from anywhere that you have an Internet connection.

On the CF-F8’s 14.1-inch, 1280-by-800-pixel panel, Sony VGP-BPS2 battery,colors pop a little more and don’t get nearly as washed out. Even so, brighter images start to blow out on the matte screen. As for sound, the two grill speakers on the sides of the keyboard, while a marked improvement over a crummy mono tin can, still come off as shallow. In the end, you know that this is a business machine, not a multimedia marvel.
As you read, keep in mind that the machine I’m describing doesn’t fit in the mainstream 15-inch PC notebook class, a strictly two-year service group typified by painted-on key legends, breakable tray-loading DVD drives,Uniwill U40 battery, and slow integrated graphics. The MacBook Pro is a five-year machine, by design and by track record. If you choose to replace a 15-inch MacBook Pro in two years, you’ll be able to sell it for most of what you paid for it.
